Fu così che una parte della produzione delle Fiat 600D, fu destinata alla casa Abarth per permettere di allestire la nuovissima 850 TC. Carlo Abarth riuscì a trasformare una tranquilla vettura di famiglia in una maneggevole, scattante e leggera belva da corsa che si dimostrò perfetta sia nelle competizioni che nell’uso giornaliero. Le più grandi modifiche riguardarono il motore che era un quattro cilindri da 767 cm3, a cui vennero maggiorati l’alesaggio e la corsa così da raggiungere i 847 cm3 di cilindrata. L’adozione di nuovi pistoni favorì il rapporto di compressione e anche l’albero a camme diventò più performante. Montava inoltre il carburatore Solex da 32, un nuovo filtro dell’aria, un albero motore diverso. Lo scarico, pensato per l’impiego sportivo, amplificava il rombo del motore Abarth. Tutte queste modifiche consentivano alla 850 TC di toccare i 140 km/h di velocità massima, non pochi per un’utilitaria del tempo e che rese necessaria l’adozione di un nuovo impianto frenante, con i dischi al posto dei tamburi sulle ruote anteriori. Gli interni rimasero classici ed eleganti grazie alla strumentazione firmata Jaeger, ma con un pizzico di sportività data dal volante in alluminio a 3 razze. Il magnifico esemplare da noi proposto in asta è uno dei pochi esemplari di Abarth 850 TC in perfetto stato ancora in circolazione, immatricolata nel 1961. L’auto è stata restaurata in maniera maniacale in ogni suo aspetto. Il restauro è durato circa due anni ed è terminato circa 2 mesi fa, ed ha riguardato tutta la carrozzeria che è stata sverniciata controllata e riverniciata del suo bianco originale, le sospensioni sono state restaurate in ogni aspetto ed in ogni ordine (gommini, aste, ammortizzatori, freni, braccetti, ecc..) il motore è stato smontato integralmente, controllato, ripulito e riassemblato come in origine (e gira come un orologio). Ad oggi ha percorso solamente 800 Km dopo il restauro. Ha avuto solo 2 proprietari precedenti ed è dotata delle sue targhe originali del 1961, e di tutta la sua documentazione originale. L’auto verrà battuta in asta alla kermesse di Milano AutoClassica 2021 in condizione straordinarie. In the 1960s, Carlo Abarth went from being an external coachbuilder to an official Fiat partner. Part of the Fiat 600D production was allocated to the Abarth company to enable them to set up the brand new 850 TC. Carlo Abarth succeeded in transforming a quiet family car into a manoeuvrable, agile and light racing monster that proved to be perfect for both racing and everyday use. The biggest changes concerned the engine, which was a 767 cm3 four-cylinder with an increased bore and stroke to reach a displacement of 847 cm3. The adoption of new pistons improved the compression ratio and the camshaft also became more powerful. It also featured a 32 Solex carburettor, a new air filter and a different crankshaft. The exhaust, designed for sports use, amplified the roar of the Abarth engine. All these changes allowed the 850 TC to reach a top speed of 140 km/h, not bad for a small car of the time and which made it necessary to adopt a new braking system, with discs instead of drums on the front wheels. The interior remained classic and elegant thanks to the Jaeger instrumentation, but with a touch of sportiness given by the 3-spoke aluminium steering wheel. The splendid example we are offering at auction is one of the few examples of Abarth 850 TC in perfect condition still in circulation and registered in 1961. The car has been maniacally restored in every aspect. The restoration lasted about two years and ended about 2 months ago, and has covered the entire body that has been stripped of paint controlled and repainted in its original white, the suspension has been restored in every aspect and in every order (rubber, rods, shock absorbers, brakes, arms, etc.). The engine was disassembled in its entirety, checked, cleaned and reassembled as originally (and works perfectly). To date, it has covered only 800 km after restoration. It has had only 2 pr
